Cul Camp 2018...

Cul Camp 2018 has just ended and what a week was had by all. An amazing 102 Bride Rovers girls attended this year who thoroughly enjoyed the week. A huge thank you to Cork Senior Ladies Footballer Orlagh Farmer who was our special guest on Friday. Big thanks to all our coaches and helpers Grace, Elaine, Laura, Katie, Emma B, Sarah, Caoimhe, Emily, Siobhan, Rebecca, Ella, Alanna, Talitha and Ciara for their huge effort throughout the week and to all the parents who helped out in any way and of course to all the girls who attended our camp. We hope to see you all again and more next year. Thanks also to Valerie Culloty who was our camp coordinator and to Grace Kearney our head coach for their efforts over the past few weeks to organise a successful camp for the girls. The future is most certainly bright for Bride Rovers Ladies Football and Camogie.

EAST CORK JUNIOR B CHAMPIONSHIP

Well done to our Junior B Ladies Football team who defeated Youghal on Thursday last in the East Cork Junior B Final in Rathcormac. Our girls got off to a great start and kept their composure throughout the game to secure the win. Our girls never gave up and played some very good football on the night. Thanks to Youghal for a great sporting game played on a wet evening in difficult conditions. It was a well fought game however our girls came out victorious on the night. Congrats to all for the superb effort on the night.

SENIOR FOOTBALL COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

Our girls traveled to Killeagh on Monday night to face a strong Inch Rovers team in the Round Robin stage of the County Championship. Inch started strongly with the advantage of a strong wind in the first half. However with good team work and scores from Katie Quirke and Grace Walsh, Bride Rovers were well in the game. There was some great defending and it was our captain Evelyn Collins who was driving our team on from the full back line and our girls never gave up. Bride Rovers trailed narrowly by only 2 points at the haft time whistle on  scoreline of 0-5 to 0-7. Both teams started the second half all guns blazing and there were some fantastic scores from both sides. The strong Bride Rovers defence worked the ball out and set up the forwards up for some great scores. It was a very close battle with two strong teams edging for the winning but in the end, a draw was the fairest result. Both teams finished with 11 points each. Thanks to Inch Rovers for a fantastic game of football. Well done to all involved.
