Great win for Under 16's..
Rebel Og North Under 16 HC.
In glorious sunshine we played Killavullen in the B1 u16 North Hurling Championship on Monday evening in Ballygiblin. This year we have not entered in the under 16 leagues because at this particular age-group we have extremely low numbers. This championship tie against a fancied Killavullen side was always going to be a tough assignment as the Rovers had only two players on the age of 16. They say it's not the size of the dog in the fight that matters but the size of the fight in the dog and so it proved on a baking hot pitch. That never-say-die attitude that is associated with all Bride Rovers teams came to the fore again as usual our lads gave everything and won on a scoreline of 5-8 to 3-9 with a panel of 17 players all got a game panel on the night Frank O Flynn, Eldon O Conor, Liam Collins, Tomas Macek, John Buckley, David Barry, Conor Hazelwood, Nicky Kelleher, Ronan O Connell, Cillian Tobin, Denis Cashman, Adam Walsh, Adam Hayes, Adam Hynes, Josh Ahern Edmund Cashman Jacob Powell great stuff lads.

Under 10's Busy.
Bride Rovers U10s played two matches in the last few days: last Wednesday the team played Castlelyons at home and on Saturday the boys played St Colmans away, winning both matches. There are no matches planned for this week but training continues as normal. Below is a photo from the match versus St Colmans.
Under 8's in the Park.
Our under 8 hurlers were in Pairc U Chaoimh on Saturday morning last for a Rebel Og blitz. In brilliant sunshine all our players really enjoyed their games. It was a great performance by all involved. It is really brilliant for these young players to get to play at the new super Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Training will be Saturday only at 10 for the next two weeks.
Under 9's on the Road.
Our U9 boys braved the heat last Saturday morning to play against Carrigtwohill. Both sides were short due to holidays etc but still managed to field two teams so 4 games in total were played. A feature of our strong performance was the willingness of our boys to give nice short passes in order to create opportunities for their team-mates. Many thanks to Frank & Seanie for refereeing and to Ben Knox who “helped” out on the morning. That was the final game in the first half of our season. While we lost out on a couple of games at the start because of the extreme weather we played most weekends since April. We have a 4 week gap until the final 8 games so we’ll concentrate on coaching sessions until August. We’re taking a break for a week and will recommence on Wednesday week. Texts will go out regarding location but training will be Wednesday nights at 7 and Saturday mornings at 10:15.
