Seniors lose out to Glen, Mixed fortunes for Football teams..
RED FM SHL.
On Wednesday night last under lights in Cloughduv our senior hurlers played Glen Rovers in the RedFM Senior Hurling League.
This game was a valuable run out ahead of championship in three weeks. It was a good competitive game from start to finish with some excellent scores on the night.Pat Horgan's accuracy from frees being the difference on the night as he notched up eight points from placed balls. The Rovers started brightly with points from Brian Roche and DJ Cahill. The Glen levelled soon afterwards but another Brian Roche point and a free from William Finnegan restored our lead.Four points from the Glen forwards had them in front with 20 minutes played but a strong finish to the half by the Rovers with points from Michael Collins, Cian O Connor and a brace from William Finnegan had us in front at half time 0-08 to 0-06 On the resumption the Glen drew level with 2 points from Pat Horgan. We then suffered a double blow losing both Brian Murphy and goalkeeper Jerome O Driscoll to injury. The Glen opened up a two point advantage but a point from Michael Collins and a well taken goal by Cian O Connor had us in front again. Our backs were under a lot of pressure and denied the Glen several goal opportunities but Pat Horgan's free taking proved the difference in the end and despite William Finnegan scoring 3 more points the Glen won by 0-18 to 1-12.
Team J O Driscoll, F Collins, M Liddane, T O Sullivan, J Pratt, B Murphy, S Walsh, E Roche, S O Connor, C O Connor, B Roche, M Collins, W Finnegan, DJ Cahill, C Barry. Subs used F Hogan, S Boyce.

Football Championships..
We played Minor Football on Saturday and the Under 21 Semi Final on Sunday.
REBEL OG PREMIER 2 A MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.
On Saturday afternoon we travelled to Castletownroche to take on Granard Gaels (Liscarroll/Churchtown) on the Co Premier MFC. In what was a tough game of football we won out by a margin of five points 1 11 to 0 9. We started very well and points from Conor Barry and Tom Murray gave us a great start. The North Cork side were well in the game early on but our defence was superb. The vital score in the first half came when following a great series of passes Brian Roche billowed the net. This helped us to a 1 5 t o 0 2 lead at the break. The Gaels really came into the game in the first ten minutes of the second half and scored two great points. Again our backs made some vital interceptions and block downs when Granard Gaels were in full flow. We added some great scores inn the last quarter for a five point win. Well done lads on a fine performance. UNDER 21'S LOSE OUT.
The Under 21 Football Championship for 2018 is a competition we will never forget. Having beaten Carrignavar after extra time in the first round we were then paired against the same team in the semi final on Easter Sunday. The game was fixed for Glenville but transferred to Pairc na Bride. To say it was a game we could should have won is an understatement. We were awarded two penalties towards the end of the match but unfortunately scored from neither. The teams were level at 1 7 each when we got the second penalty and Carrig had a man sent off. In the added seven minutes Carrig scored two points to win by 1 9 to 1 7. It was a terrible way to exit the competition and heartbreaking for all the players and management and now we have to get ready for the under 21 hurling championship. B.Hogan, J. Mannix, S. Walsh J. Connor, G. O Keeney/Sullivan, S. O Connor, M. Quinn, C. Ryan 0 1, C. Power, J. Tobin 1 0, DJ. Cahill , S. O Flynn, E.Roche, B. Roche 0 1, C. Barry 0 5 (0 4 frees) , C. Howard, K. Kearney , D. Brown.
