Rebel Og Co Minor Football league.

At Pairc na Bride Rathcormac on Saturday last, Bride Rovers Minor Footballer’s, won the opening round of the Premier 2A Football League at the expense of Cobh. This group of players are playing Premier Football in 2018 as a result of their County “A” Championship title in 2016.  After an evenly contested hour’s football, the home team collected the points by the narrowest of margins.  The  home side got the  opening two scores on offer before Cobh replied with a similar score.  Then a Conleith Ryan goal pushed the Rovers well in front but just before half time, Cobh hit a purple patch with a brace of goals to lead at half time by 2-5 to 1-3.  The Rover’s up the pace in the second half and were in control in all sectors with a string of goal chances but none converted.  They still  trailed by seven points at the three-quarter stage but over the remaining minutes played their best football when they outscored the visitors to take the points on offer.  Final score Bride Rover 2-9, Cobh 2-8.

Next up in the MFL  is a trip to play Ilen Rovers in mid-March at Ilen's home venue which is located west of Skibbereen.
