GAELIC FOR MOTHERS & OTHERS

Our Gaelic 4 Mothers&Others team had their first outing of the season with a blitz on Friday night last in Killeagh.  Our thanks to Killeagh for the invite and the hospitality shown in the club rooms after.  The ethos of the Gaelic4Mothers&Others is a non-competitive environment for ladies to take part in ladies football as either their first exposure to the game or their post retirement experience.  We had 10 eager players lined out for three games against Quarry Blues, Cloyne and Shamrocks.  While scores aren’t kept we are very happy with the team’s performance and can see great improvements in all since the start of the year.  It was great to see those new to our sport performing the skills with great confidence and to see some of our more established players enjoying the experience of playing agian.  There are currently 22 registered players with this group and further games are planned over the next few weeks and the culmination of the season will be the National blitz held in Dublin in October. Like any great team the challenge for places is definitely on following the great display on Friday night last!   Training continues every Tuesday night 7.15-8.15 in Pynes field.  It is never too late to join so anyone interested please contact any of the players or Irene Hogan (0876548928) for further details.
