Senior League: Bride Rovers 3-08 St. Vals 1-20

On Thursday last the Senior Ladies team played host to St. Vals in the Division 1A Football League. Matches against St. Vals are always tough given that they are one of the top sides in the county. But despite this the Rovers played very well on the night. At half time we trailed 1-13 to 1-04 but started very brightly in the second half with Katie Quirke scoring two goals in the opening minutes. Playing some excellent football the Rovers worked hard throughout the field, points by Grace Culloty & Grace Kearney reduced the St Vals lead. Some excellent defending curbed any goal threat by St. Vals. At the final whistle the score was 3-08 to 1-20. Lots of positives to take from this game as we prepare for championship in the coming weeks.

U12 East Cork Football league Bride Rovers 4-12 vs Glanmire B 2-1:

We played Glanmire B in a league game on a blustery wet Friday night . With a combination of the wet ball and us being a bit slow off the blocks  Glanmire took advantage. Half time came with a score of 2-7 vs 2-0 to us. Some second half changes were made from the sideline and our game picked up considerably. We finished on a score of 4-12 to 2-1. Well done girls on an excellent work rate.

On Saturday afternoon, the u14 camogie team played at home to Ballinhassig. This was a good competitive game but Bride Rovers were unlucky to concede two early goals. This put them on the back foot for much of the game but they continued to battle hard and compete strongly for every ball. The team played very well and are improving with every game with good passing and fielding throughout the sixty minutes. At the final whistle Ballinhassig were the winners by three goals but the margin wasn't really reflective of the game. Well done girls!
