Goals Galore...

Bride Rovers 7-08 Midleton 5-04..

Bride Rovers U16 Ladies Football team defeated Midleton in their opening game of the U16 East Cork League played in Pairc Na Bríde on Monday night last in a game that saw no less than 12 goals scored.

This was a highly entertaining game that ebbed and flowed as both teams showed great skill and scored some cracking goals.

The Rovers, with just the bare 15 available, had 8 different scorers on the night. They have being working hard in training since January with Martin O'Sullivan, Alan Murphy & Triona O'Sullivan and were rewarded with this fine win on a scoreline of 7-08 to 5-04.

Team:

Sarah Murphy, Abbey Keating, Rachel O'Flynn, Emily Thompson, Chloe Murphy, Talitha O'Neill, Caoimhe Kilty, Shauna Hayes, Caoimhe Hazelwood, Anna Murray, Fiona Barry, Lucy Hicks, Grace Dorgan, Katie Quirke, Ciara O'Flynn.

Junior League

Bride Rovers 2-08 Carrigaline 4-16

Bride Rovers Junior Ladies Football team travelled to Carrigaline on Sunday last for their 4th game in this competition. Playing against a strong wind in the opening half the Rovers backs were under constant pressure. Stand-In Goalie Claire Hickey made some fine save and the backs defended well forcing the Carrigaline forwards to kick points from distance as we foiled many of their goal opportunities. However Carrigaline had a big lead at the interval, 2-11 to 1-02 with the Rovers scores coming from Katie Kelleher (2 frees) and a goal from Siobhan O'Sullivan.

After the interval and now playing with the wind the Rovers attacked Carrigaline, a goal by Mel Dorgan followed by points from Andrea Quinn O'Donovan and Katie Kelleher reduced the Carrigaline lead to 5 points. But Carrigaline finished the stronger scoring 2 more goals to win by 4-16 to 2-08.

Team:

Claire Hickey, Aine Cashman, Emily Larkin, Katie Connor, Aoife O'Riordan, Siobhan O'Sullivan (1-0), Talitha O'Neill, Trish O'Sullivan, Aislinn O'Connor, Emma Barry, Katie Kelleher (0-5 4F), Emma Roche, Andrea Quinn O'Donovan (0-2), Mel Dorgan (1-0), Laura Pratt, Elaine Culloty, Rachel O'Flynn, Chloe Ahern.
