Senior Draw with Carrigtwohill

 

Our Senior Hurling team, travelled to Pairc Seamus de Barra in Carrigtwohill on Saturday evening.  Though it was April 1st conditions were excellent for hurling and a close, low-scoring game . The lead changed  from side to side but we held a one point advantage coming up to the end. Carrig were awarded a free which was pointed to leave the final score at 12 point apiece. Team: D Fitzgerald, M Kearney (0-1), B Murphy, L Forde, T O Sullivan, D Carr, S Kearney, C O Connor (0-1), S O Connor (0-1), M Collins, S Walsh, D Buckley (0-1), W Finnegan, D Dooley (0-8), DJ Cahill. Upcoming Fixtures. We have no League game this weekend and then away games to Sars and Blackrock
SHL v Sarsfields Saturday April 15th at 7.30pm in Riverstown
SHL v Blackrock Saturday April 22nd at 6.30pm in Church Road
Junior Hurling.

We had a Junior challenge game arranged for last Sunday against Donoughmore but unfortunately on Friday this was cancelled as the Mid Cork side were unable to field a team.

LOTTO AT €10,200.

The Lotto Jackpot on the last Tuesday of March was €10,000. The numbers drawn were 5,6,8 and 14 and there was no winner on the night. The winners of €30 each were Pat Cotter S, Bartlemy. Pat, Hogan Dripsey, Joe Collins Ballinhassig, Kevin Carey Monanig, Conor O Sullivan c/o LAYA. Tickets cost just €2 each and can be purchased in local business outlets, from club members and online at Locallotto.ie

JUVENILE REPORT

U6 training is on every Saturday morning between 10 and 11 am in the small Astro pitch in the main club grounds.

U9 Football.
Bride Rovers U9s played 2 football matches against Sliabh Rua (Belgooly / Ballymartle) on Sat April the 1st at home. Twenty one  Rovers' under 9s participated in total and contributed to two  hard fought and ultimately successful matches.  The showery weather threatened to intervene at times but the Sun shone at the end with two victories under their belts. Next match is hurling V Mallow away on Saturday next 8th April .

U10 Football
Two wins out of two so far in the Rebel Og football league for the lads with a hard earned win in windy conditions against Shanballymore last Saturday Bride Rovers 10:4 to Shanballynore 6:10. Well done to all the boys involved , great displays by all team: Conor O Riordan, Jack Hynes, Adam Cronin, Thomas o Riordan, Jack Collins, Cillian O Sullivan, Darragh Delaney , Shane Prendergast, Adam Kelleher
Next match is this Wednesday April 5th at home to  Tracton at 7.15 in the  main pitch.  
U12 Hurling
The under 12 hurlers played there first hurling league match away to Aghada on Monday 4 April. It was a very tough match in very poor conditions , it was a low scoring match with Aghada just scraping the victory 2:4 to 1:4 .

UNDER 14 FOOTBALL.

It was a busy few days for this team with 4 games. We played Glenville at ghome on Wed night. We were level 2 2 to 1 5 at the break but only scored a point in the second half while Glenville added 2 5 to win by 3 10  to 2 3. We played 3 games in the u14 football Feile which was held in Fermoy on Saturday

 winning 2 and losing 1. 

Bride Rovers 4-8 Fermoy 0-1,  our goal scorers were Edmond Cashman 2 and Gearoid White and Evan Buckley 1 each.

Bride Rovers 1- 4  Donoughmore 1-1 Adam Walsh was our goal scorer here.

 Bride Rovers 2-4 Aghada 1-8. We got off to a poor start in this game and were 4 points down in  the first half. Two quick goals from Edmond Cashman and Adam Walsh changed the game. We had a two point lead near the end but Aghada broke up field for the winning goal.

Fixtures; Premier 2A hurling League v Cobh  at home on Thursday night April 6th at 6.45.

Under 13 Premier 1 Hurling League Monday April the 10th away to Ballygarvan at 6.30pm.

CLUB MEETING.

The next meeting of the Club Executive is on Monday April the 10th at 8pm.

 MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR 2017.

Membership fees for the 2017 season are now being accepted from players  and non-players. It is essential for all players to have the membership fee paid before the playing season commences. Anyone who wishes to pay the Membership Fee by instalments will be accommodated to do so.

The Fees for 2017 are as follows;

Players €100

Non Player adult membership €50

OAP membership €20.

Gym Membership €100.

All Membership and Gym Fees can be paid to the Club Treasurer Dan Quill or any Executive Committee Member.

STEWARDS TRAINING COURSE.

The Cork County GAA Board are holding a training course for Voluntary Stewards to help with games in Pairc Ui Chaoimh and Pairc Ui Rinn. The course will be held on Friday April 14th at 6.00 pm and Saturday April 15th at 9.15 in Pairc Ui Rinn and full details can be got from Club Officers.
