Juniors Win in Dripsey..
The Bride Rovers Junior Ladies Football team recorded their second win in the league with a convincing win over Dripsey on Sunday last.
Played in the beautiful setting in Dripsey the Rovers got off to a flying start with a goal from the ever improving Jessica O'Riordan. With our goalie involved with Cork U16's we had to call upon Rachel O'Flynn (1st half) & Katie Connor (2nd half) to stand between the posts and a fine job they done.
Expierenced back Emma O'Keeffe who was well supported by our young defenders of Emma Barry, Emily Larkin, Katie Connor, Aislinn O Connor & Anna Greaney coped well with any threat from Dripsey. With our forwards getting great supply from our midfield duo of Trish & Siobhan O'Sullivan we began to tack on the scores with points from Elaine Culloty, Imelda Dorgan & Katie Kelleher. Aislinn O Connor ventured up the field to score a point and not to be outdone Emma Barry who lined out at corner back went on a great solo run to score a wonderful point, she added a second point to her tally in the second half.
At half time the Rovers were in front 1-06 to 0-0. We did miss some chances in the first half but certainly made amends in the second half.
The forwards certainly kicked on in the second half with further scores coming from Jessica O'Riordan (1-02), Imelda Dorgan (1-01), Emma Roche (1-02), Elaine Culloty (0-03), Katie Kelleher (Free), Siobhan O'Sullivan, Chloe Ahern and Emma Barry rounded off a fine win on a scoreline of 4-17 to 0-0.
