Happy Christmas..
Another year over and a new one just beginning, time flies doesn't it and so 2016 is drawing to a close and 2017 is just on the horizon. It's the time of the year for reflection and planning to but most of all for relaxation after a busy year. While we didn't capture the Cork Senior Hurling Championship title as we hoped to it was a year of solid progress. Great progress was made with all teams and we had success at Minor, Junior C and of course under-age level. All this augurs well for the future. At this time of the year as we reflect on 2016 I want to wish everyone involved with Bride Rovers, in any capacity, a very happy and Peaceful Christmas and a bright New Year. In our Club we are blessed with loyal, hardworking and decent players, members and supporters. Everyone in the parish helps the Club in one way or another and we are so grateful for the efforts of so many who lend a hand with the running of the GAA in Bartlemy, Rathcormac and Kildinan. Hopefully this will be a lovely Christmas season for you all. We remember too former players, officers and supporters who died during the year and we pray for their families at this time.
2017.
No final decision has yet been made on the format of the Cork Senior Hurling League for 2017. A proposal to split the League into two groups thus giving 8 or 9 games to each Club has been made but not finalised. With Cork playing Tipperary on the 21st of May in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship next year it's likely the cork SHC will have an early start. As we are playing Glen Rovers in a preliminary round game we could be looking at late April or early May.

Hard luck ST. COLMANS
In terrible weather conditions at Pairc Ui Rinn on last Thursday night St Colmans played Midleton CBS in the final of the O Callaghan Cup -the Cork Colleges Senior Hurling competition. It was shame to have such a prestigious competition decided on a night of torrential rain. Midleton scored just two pointed frees in the second half but that was enough to win the Cup by a single point. St Colmans must now turn once more to the Harty Cup. The Fermoy College have got a tough draw in the quarter final against CBC of Cork city who draw players from far and wide. This game will be played in January.
