Annual General Meeting on 25th..
The Annual General Meeting of the Bride Rovers Hurling and Football Club will be held in Rathcormac Hall on Friday November the 25th at 8pm and all are welcome to attend. The AGM will review the season of 2016 and plan for 2017. During this past season we had some brilliant results especially in hurling. The Senior Team reached the quarter final of the SHC and semi final of the RED FM SHL but lost both games by two point margins, to Douglas and Blackrock. Our Junior C Hurling team retained their East Cork championship title while the Minor Hurlers won the Rebel Og East League. Overall it was year of steady progress for the Club. We are oh so close to making that breakthrough at Senior level -hopefully 2017 will be the year. We are appealing to all our players and members and loyal supporters to come to the AGM
- the Bride Rovers Club is for everyone and we want the views and ideas and suggestions of as many as possible.
FANTASTIC QUIZ NIGHT.
Last Saturday night in the Rathcormac Inn was a memorable occasion. The Bride Rovers Juvenile Club held a fun fund raising Table Quiz. With thirty tables competing the event was tremendous success. Huge thanks goes to Jerome O’Driscoll (and Kate) for organizing the night a lot of work was put in behind the scenes. Special thanks to Mary Arnold for providing and asking the questions on the night, I think we can all agree there was a great range of questions to suit all ages. The Juvenile Club would like to thank all our generous sponsors who were all so willing to support their local GAA juvenile club through sponsorship of jerseys for our teams during the year and also for supplying the prizes for our fundraising quiz night. Thanks to Aisling at the Rathcormac Inn for hosting the event in her usual professional manner and to DJ Mossie for the tunes. Lastly, a huge thanks to all who turned up on the night to support the Juvenile club. It was especially nice to see so many parents who are new to the club in attendance. Thanks to everyone who supported the event. The winning team on the night was Blaithin Keating, Vincent Cronin and Aine O Grady.

JOSEPHINE WHITMARSH O BRIEN RIP.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Josephine Whitmarsh O Brien who died last weekend. Josephine was a remarkable woman -a mother, wife, daughter and sister but above all a brave and courageous person. Daughter of Joseph and Maisie O Brien Josephine was a vivacious and bubbly person. Anyone who knew her felt the better for being her friend as she exuded happiness and kindness. Josephine and her husband Paul were the parents of three lovely boys Beineón, Joseph and Seaghán and they rightly doted on them. In the prime of her life Josephine was struck with a life threatening disease. Her courage and strength during her years of illness and treatment was truly inspirational. She battled for her husband and boys and parents and her three sisters as well. Over the years she had so many setbacks but defying all the medical and medicinal odds Josephine kept going. Truly she lived her life for those she loved and despite her ongoing illness she kept the bright side out all the time. Last week her battle so bravely fought, ended. Josephine touched the lives and hearts of so many in her relatively short life and her loss to her family is enormous. We can honour her memory and her bravery by supporting her extended family in these tough times. God bless you and keep you Josephine, everyone's friend.

FIFTY YEARS AGO.
It was exactly 50 years ago last Sunday - November the 6th 1966, that Bride Rovers won the East Cork Junior Grade Hurling Championship in East Cork for the first time ever. Youghal were defeated in the Final in Midleton on a scoreline of 6 12 to 6 3.
Four members of the panel Tony O Brien, Tony Walsh, Tim Maher and Michael Twomey have gone to their eternal reward. The other members of the panel were Willie Sheehan captain, Seanie Barry Vice Captain, Derry Cotter, Willie Cotter, John Fitzgerald, Denis Canty, Tom O Riordan, Gerard Barry, Henry Hazlewood, Paudie Murphy, Sean Murphy, John Meade, Batty Hogan, Michael Murphy, Eddy Barry, John Gettings, Pat Hoskins, John Meade, Eamonn Hoskins and Billy O Connell. The selectors were Dinny Howard and Joe Browne and the late Dave Hogan. This win was remarkable because the club had only been reformed in late 1964. The B Grade win of 1966 was the start of a truly Golden Era for the club.
