U14 Football..
On Friday evening, Bride Rovers under 14 ladies played away to Watergrasshill in the second round of the East Cork football championship. This was a very close contest throughout with the teams practically trading score for score. Watergrasshill led at half time by four points but within a few minutes of the second half commencing, with scores from Chloe and Ava, Bride Rovers had narrowed the gap to just one point. Unfortunately, Watergrasshill pulled away again with a number of points but Caoimhe Hazelwood brought the sides level with a well-taken goal from a free. Despite several more goal chances by the Rovers, the Watergrasshill goalkeeper kept the ball out of the net, and the home side took control of the game with four consequitive points. They were ultimately victorious by a three point margin in what was a very enjoyable and sporting game with our near neighbours. Final score Watergrasshill 3-8 Bride Rovers 2-8
