Ladies Club Report - 2016-09-27 20:55:00

On Monday evening, Bride Rovers u14 ladies footballers took on Glanmire B at home in the first round of the East Cork Championship. The teams had met in a closely fought contest in the Plate Final earlier in the year so they were expecting another competitive game. However, from the outset, Bride Rovers took control of the game and notched up a very strong lead in the first half. In fairness to Glanmire B, they never gave up but the gap between the teams on the day was too big and the home side ran out decisive winners. They now proceed to the semi final, details to be confirmed. Best wishes to Amy Kennedy for a speedy recovery, Amy was unable to play due to injury.

Team: Katie Scollard, Alanna Broderick, Sophie Dorgan, Alice Murray, Caoimhe Kielty, Rebecca Walsh, Caoimhe Kielty, Shauna Hayes, Caoimhe Hazelwood, Abby Keating, Chloe Murphy, Ava Hallihan, Kate O'Riordan, Ella Quinlan, Ciara O'Flynn, Sarah Morrison, Niamh O'Sullivan, Leah Hallihan, Lily Murray.

Congrats to Cork Ladies
Congratulations to the Cork Senior Ladies on winning an historic 6th All-Ireland title in a row, these girls are truly magnificent and do not know when they are beaten.

Castlelyons Camogie Blitz

Bride Rovers U9 & U10 Camogie players took part in a blitz on Sunday morning last in Castlelyons. They played 3 games against Dungourney, Eire Óg and Castlelyons and all 14 players present got plenty of games. For most this was their first taste of camogie matches and everyone enjoyed themselves. Well done to the host club for running off an excellent blitz in a very well organised manner. Thank you to Niall Harte & Emma O'Regan for looking after the team.  Photo above of U9 Camogie Team)

U12's in County Final

Our U12 girls take on Bishopstown in the county final on Saturday in Mayfield at 2pm.
After losing to Inch Rovers in the East Cork Final the Rovers have bounced back with 2 very impressive performances in the county championship against Rosscarbery & Ballyphehane to secure a place in the final. We wish all the girls & team management the very best of luck. Please come out and support the girls.
