Well done to James & Raymond..
Cork Footballers hadn't the honour of running out on the hallowed sod of Croke Park in either the Minor or Senior Finals on Sunday last but Cork were still represented on Gaelic Football's biggest day. Two Bride Rovers men were on duty on Jones' Road as officials last Sunday. For the Minor Final between Kerry and Galway James Bermingham was the Fourth Official on the pitch sideline assisting the referee and his officials. For the Senior Final between Mayo and Kerry Cork referee Conor Lane was 'the man in the middle' and Raymond Hegarty was one of Conor's four umpires. Congrats to both James and Raymond on their appointments and well done on the day. Kerry completed a three-in-a-row of Minor crowns while the Dubs and Mayo will have to meet again on October 1st - the first replay in Football since the year 2000.

CORK GAA FORUM.
On next Saturday morning starting at 10 am an important Cork GAA Consultative Forum is being held in the GAA pavilion in Ovens. Delegates from every Club in the County are invited and at our Executive meeting on Monday night three delegates were appointed. On Saturday various aspects of how the GAA in Cork is run and how it can be improved are to be discussed. The aim is to improve the situation pertaining to Club and inter-county teams.
LONG LAY OFF.
After our defeat to Douglas in the Cork Co SHC the log time span since our last Championship was discussed and the general consensus was that regular championship games are more desirable. Imagine then how Senior Football Clubs in Dublin now feel. Their County Senior Football championship began in mid April but since the last week of April no game has been played. Because of the drawn All Ireland the Dublin SFC Championship will not now 're commence' until October 6th.
