U-12 Premier 1 Hurling..Bride Rovers 1-09 Douglas 1-06We welcomed Douglas to Pairc Na Bride last Saturday. On a glorious day for hurling. Douglas were first to score but after that our boys settled down to play some great hurling. All skills were on show hooking, blocking, catching and striking from both left and right. Referee Niall Barrett allowed water breaks every chance he got on a very hot day. At half time Rovers were leading 1-5 to 1-4.
Second half got underway and with great local support the boys continued to hurl with determination and skill we added 4 more points from our forwards. Great defending from our goalkeeper and backs limited Douglas to just 2 points. Midfielders working very hard all day long contributed to a great win. Well done to all involved.

U10Boys.On Saturday the 28th Bride Rovers under 10 boys attended the Ballyduff Hurling tournament where we had 3 games to play against Holycross, Skeheenrinky & Ballygunner. The boys won all 3 games showing all there skills & talents which qualified us to play in the semi final on the 4 June against St Oliver's and again because of the second half performance of the boys we were victorious and qualified for the final to play against An Gaeltacht of Dungarvan. We had a poor start in the final and were behind by 4 pints at halftime, however the Rover Boys were not to be beaten and won the Final by 1 Point. We played a total of 17 players over the 2 weekends and for many this was there first competitive tournament. Jack Keating & Gearoid Gubbins were presented with the Sheild and the boys got there medals. Well done to the lads and best of luck for the rest of the yearBride Rovers would like to wish Best of luck to all players sitting Leaving and Junior Cert exams in the coming weeks.
