Ladies Club Report - 2016-05-28 15:05:00

Our u12 girls had a tough week this week
Last mon night we played a Camogie match against Brian Dillion's
Girls tried hard on the night and never gave up but it was not to be. Brian Dillion's were a stronger team on the night.
This mon night we played Rockban in Footbal at home. Girls fought hard for the full match and played great football but were beaten by a better team on the night. Well done to all girls.

The under 14 ladies football team came third in their group in the East Cork League and therefore qualified for the Plate Final against Glanmire B. This match was played at home on Friday evening, and the team were determined to finish the league on a positive note. This determination was evident from start to finish as they fought hard for every ball, competed tirelessly for possession, defended staunchly and worked up some great scores with fine passing movement going forward. At half time Bride Rovers led 3-3 to 1-4 and it was clearly all to play for going into the second half. As expected Glanmire B came out strong and attacked well. Goalkeeper, Katie Scollard, was under enormous pressure, particularly in the latter twenty minutes, but she withstood the pressure and cleared the ball off the line several times. Ella Quinlan scored two fine goals to see out the game and the home side sealed a well deserved victory on a scoreline of 5-5 to 3-6. Rebecca Walsh (captain) accepted the Plate on behalf of the team. Well done girls on a superb team performance and an excellent result.
Team: Katie Scollard, Caoimhe O'Sullivan, Sophie Dorgan, Alanna Broderick, Alice Murray, Rebecca Walsh, Caoimhe Kielty, Shauna Hayes (1-0), Chloe Murphy, Ava Hallihan (1-0), Caoimhe Hazelwood (1-2), Abby Keating, Ciara O'Flynn (0-2), Ella Quinlan (2-1), Kate O'Riordan, Leah Hallihan, Niamh O'Sullivan, Ali O'Riordan, Naoise McCarthy.

Well done to Cork who defeated Limerick by 0-12 to 0-10 in the Munster Senior Camogie Championship Final on Saturday May 21st at Kilmallock and to our own Jen Barry.  Also best of luck and Bon Voyage to Jen Barry and Jen Cahill who are both heading Stateside for the Summer.  Enjoy girls.
