On Wednesday evening, the 13th of April, the under 14 ladies footballers played at home to Cloyne. This was going to be a difficult encounter, having lost out to Cloyne last year in our final game of the season. Cloyne got off to a very good start with two early goals but Bride Rovers quickly replied with three points and a goal to go one point ahead twenty minutes in. Cloyne scored just one more point in the first half to Bride Rovers' six points. The home side led at the half time whistle by five points.
As expected, Cloyne came out strong in the early part of the second half and scored an early goal and point to narrow the margin to just one point. However, three goals from Bride Rovers in quick succession put them well clear again, and they finished out the game with four more scores. It was an excellent performance all round, and we were lucky to have almost the full panel available on the day. Each and every player worked tirelessly with good passing movement all the time, confidence going forward in possession, and tight marking in defence. The subs all played a pivotal part too, and it was a well deserved win at the end of the day.
