Sports prediction Quiz Deadline..

The deadline is fast approaching for  Sports Prediction Quiz which is  our major fundraiser for  2016.  The Tickets have been on sale for a number of weeks and are still on sale up until Sunday evening. For an investment of just €10 you could win €1000.

As you are all aware the club incurs a lot of expenses for the up keep of facilities which include 3 playing pitches, 2 astro-turf facilities, a gym and dressing rooms. We also continue to try and improve the facilities for our players, mentors and supporters. There was little fundraising done by the club in 2015 as there were many other very worthy fundraisers taking place in the community. The target for the club is to sell 600 Sports Prediction Quiz Sheets, this will require a huge effort by everyone in the club. Your help in selling these would be greatly appreciated and a big push in the final few days is vital.  The Sports Prediction Quiz will hopefully create great excitement around the club over the next 8 months.

How it works is that we have chosen 24 sporting events that are taking place from the Racing Festival in Cheltenham next week right up until  next  October, its up to you to choose from the 5 options listed who you think is going to win each event, the more of an 'outsider' you choose the more points that you receive. The winner at the end is the person who has the most accumulated points total.

Entry is €10 per ticket and are widely available from any club officer or player.

Prizes : 1st: €500, 2nd: €200, 3rd: €100, 4th: €50, 5th: €50. €1000 bonus if you get all 24 questions correct.

Cards must be returned to any club officer or player by Sunday March 13th.

Results will be posted here on www.briderovers.ie on the last Sunday of every month.

RED FM County Senior Hurling League.

On Sunday last our Senior Hurlers made the long trip to Newcestown in the Carbery Division to play the home team in the Cork County Senior Hurling League. After a week of bad weather playing conditions were tough but a good game of hurling was played by both sides.   Newcestown won the Cork Premier Intermediate Championship last year and are now the only Club outside of the City that are fielding Senior teams in both Hurling and Football. We led by a margin of six points at half time, 1 9 to 1 3 and scored some fine points in the second period to end up winners on a final scoreline of Bride Rovers 1 - 15 Newcestown 1 - 8

Team Panel v Newcwstown : C. Power, DJ. Cahill, B. O Driscoll, W. Finnegan, S. Glasgow, S. Ryan, M. Collins, R. Whitty, D. Dooley, B. Johnson, D. Fitzgerald, J. Pratt, C. O Connor, B. Murphy, L. Forde, S. Kearney, D. Carr, M. Liddane.

Two wins from two games in the Senior Hurling League is a good start but a lot of hard work remains to be done before Championship time in May.League table click http://briderovers.ie/league/104228/red_f_m_s_h_l
