Briderovers U14 girls win East Cork Final.
Briderovers u14 girls team1 went into the east cork final full of confidence after 2 great wins against Carrigtwohill in the quarter final and Youghal in the semifinal. Watergrasshil, having beaten St Nicks in their semi final, were always going to be a tough opposition on what turned out to be a beautiful Saturday in Pairc na Bride. The game started at a fast pace with Rovers applying the pressure and scoring the first 3 points of the game. The girls were playing some lovely football and at the halftime whistle they lead 2.5 - 0.0.
The 2nd half was a resumption of the girls applying alot of pressure on the Watergrasshill defence and went on to score another 2.3 before Watergrasshill got a goal with a well taken penalty and followed up with a point soon after. Briderovers were not fazed by this and again showed that all the hard work they had done in training would help them to score some fine points and eventually run out winners on a scoreline of 6.13 - 1.1
Thank you to Watergrasshill girls for a tough but very sporting game.
