The famous philosopher Meatloaf once wrote 'two out of three ain't bad', and that was our lot this weekend.

Firstly, our first junior hurling team overcame Sarsfields in an epic encounter on Friday night. They defeated the Glanmire and Riverstown men after extra time in greasy conditions in Glenville. The final score was 2.24 to 2.22, and the team now progress to meet Seamus Harnedy and St. Ita's in the JAHC semi-final in two weeks. Given that Carrig na bhFeár and Cobh will play the other semi, we are now the last second team standing in the East Cork competition.

Then, secondly, our seniors enjoyed a 2.23 to 1.18 win over Inniscarra on Saturday evening in Pairc Uí Rinn. It was a game where both sides had periods of dominance. Our 11 point lead was cut to two, before we finished strongly. This leaves us in a East Cork derby of a semi final where Carrigtwohill await in two weeks. Castlelyons and Blarney will contest the other semi.

Finally, our Junior C hurlers fell today at the semi-final start to Carraig na bhFear. In a game that was level at half time, we eventually faded to a five-point loss. This is the second year in a row where we have reached this stage, and perhaps 2026 will be the year to begin a move up the divisions for this group. Well done to all for your efforts this year.

All eyes turn to our junior footballers who next Sunday play Ballinacurra in the last group game where victory will clinch a spot in the semi-final stage of the JBFC
