Jim Ryan has a wonderful Medals Collection on diplay for the next two weeks in Mayfield Library.
Despite being a member of Watergrasshill Hurling and Glenville Football club, Jim has become an 'honoury Rover' (whether he likes it or not) given how many big games he has umpired with James Bermingham and Pa O'Driscoll.
Heavily involved in Cork GAA and with an exceptional commitment to Sciath na Scoil competitions, Jim is also well travelled having supported Irish teams and athletes across many sporting codes. Jim's first attended an All-Ireland hurling final in 1966 and, since then, has made it to four Olympic Games, three World Cup finals, three European Championship finals and an estimated 1,000 Irish football matches.
The medals are from 25 different sports with free admission. For a sports fan, this is an exhibition not to be missed.
