Three League Wins from Three
In the latest round of the Red FM sponsored Division 2 Hurling League played on Thursday night last under the lights in Pynes Field with a fine crowd in attendance, Bride Rovers continued their unbeaten run with a 1-19 to 1-07 win over Kanturk.
The match was orginally fixed for Pairc Na Bride but with the dull evenings at present it was felt that the game should be played under lights in Pynes Field.
At short notice the Club grounds committee prepared the field majestically and even had the old scoreboard in use.
Stewards from the match day committee helped with parking on the night to ensure everything went smoothly.
To the match itself and the Rovers played against a difficult wind in the opening half. The team worked hard and supported each other throughout the field.
Adam Walsh was unerring from frees in the opening half, scoring 4 points while Cillian Tobin, Ronan O Connell, Conleith Ryan and Paddy O Flynn also registered scores.
The Rovers led at the short whistle 0-11 to 0-06.
Playing with the wind in the second half, the Rovers further extended their lead with points from Adam, Cillian, Paddy, Shane O Connor and Conor Hazelwood.
A well taken goal by Ronan O Connell put the game to bed for the Rovers despite the late concession of a goal.
This was an excellent workmanlike performance from the team as we moved to the top of the table in Division 2 with 6 points.
Next league fixture is away to Carrigaline on Saturday 18th April at 7pm.
