Tonight saw another good football league win for Bride Rovers Minors v Kilworth Araglin Óg.

With only 14 Minors available due to injuries and midterm holidays we were again very glad to 4 of the U16 players that togged out and contributed well to the result.

Our opponents opened the scoring with a point and we answered with 2 points, we were struggling to hold possession of the wet and slippery ball on the hard and fast sand-based pitch that was very firm considering the wet week we had. Our opponents were more clinical in front of the posts scoring another 1-2. Our lads were trying too but failed to take our scoring chances leaving the score at the short whistle Kilworth Araglen 1-2 to our 3 points.

The second half was a true battle as we reeled in the score once or twice but our opponents got a run on us of 1-5 and we were in trouble with 10 minutes to go. Our subs Bobby, Jeff & Evan helped with good possession helping with score from play and also drew in the frees. With around 7 minutes to go we started to play faster football through the hands and scored 2-3 without reply to win the game by 2 points.

Well done lads on the winning result and final score of 2-9 to 2-7.

We move on to our next Minor Hurling Match away to Blarney Monday 5th of May
