HURLING IN WATERFORD.
On a very warm day of 20 degrees + we travelled to Modeligo in West Waterford last Saturday. We had a mixture of under 15 and under16 players with just two under 17 lads. We faced the home club's under 17 team. Both sides played a very good game of Hurling in what was their first game since March. The standard of hurling on both sides was very good considering we only had two training sessions since the 'comeback'. We moved the ball very well, taking some very good points and two goals showing great team work right through the full panel of twenty players all of whom were played on the day.
It finished up to be a good high scoring game with Bride Rovers winning 2-17 to 20 points Thanks to Modeligo for a good sporting game.

SPORTS PREDICTION QUIZ

Earlier this year the Bride Rovers GAA Club launched it's annual Sports Prediction Quiz in which participants were asked to predict the winners of 21 Sports events -local, national and international. With a large number of the sporting events  cancelled or postponed due to Covid-19, the club decided recently to cancel the 2020 Sports Prediction Quiz and present the proceeds to worthy causes It was agreed to donate €2,000 of the monies raised to four charities. Each charity received €500 each. The cheques were presented last Tuesday evening before the lotto Draw  to the following;

Players under years of age are back practising the skills of both hurling and football. Football training sessions are on Wednesday at 6:30pm and hurling on Saturday at 10am. This age group are a great bunch who just want to learn. Winning or losing or keeping the score is of no consequence. It's all about having fun and learning to improve the many skills and have an enjoyable time..

SENIOR HURLING.

We travelled to Kilfinnane last Sunday to play the local team, Blackrock, in a challenge game. Blackrock are the club of Pat Heffernan who was our trainer a few years back. Blackrock won the Intermediate County Championship in Limerick last year and are back up Senior this year. We played against a strong wind in first half. Coming in a point up at the break  0 13 to 0 12 was flattering for us as Blackrock were the better team in the first half. It was a tough, physical but fair encounter that was well handled by the referee. Both teams made a number of changes for the second half. The wind was even stronger on the resumption and we really utilised it finishing strongly. The final score was Bride Rovers 1 18 Blackrock  0 17.
