Footballers win 1st Round..

On Easter Monday we opened our campaign in the East Cork Junior B grade Football championship. We did not take part in the Football League this year so football preparation has been limited enough. We faced Midleton on Monday evening with a panel of twenty one players including a new midfielder Kenneth Drury. Kenneth is a native of Ballymote in Co. Sligo but had played with the St. John's Club in Ballinteer in Dublin before moving recently to Rathcormac. On Monday last Kenneth lined out alongside William Finnegan at midfield on a team that was a nice blend of youth and experience.  A good goal from Jake Tobin helped us into a  1 5 to 0 2 half time lead. We had seven scorers in total with Jerome O Driscoll kicking five points. Shane Walsh netted in the second half to help us gain a 2 10 to 1 5 victory. Well done lads on getting our first championship win of the 2017 season.

Team: F Hogan, T Kearney, P Walsh, A Buckley, S O Connor (0-1), L Forde, T O Sullivan, K Drury, W Finnegan (0-1), D Buckley (0-1), T Broderick (0-1), DJ Cahill, S Walsh (1-1), J O Driscoll (0-5), J Tobin (1-0). Sus: J Connor, S O Brien (0-1), Cian Howard, Colm Howard, D Browne, S O Flynn.

UNDER 10 HURLING.

On Wednesday night of last week Tracton were the visitors to Pairc na Bride for a Rebel Og under 10 hurling league game. The boys put in a very solid performance against Tracton showing a wide range of hurling skills. The game was close enough early on but as the contest went on the lads grew in confidence and had a great win. They were praised and complimented on their skills and stickwork by the Tracton mentors after the match.

 SENIOR HURLING LEAGUE.

We played our fourth game last Saturday in the REDFM Senior Hurling League. Though we are still without a win this display against Sars in Riverstown was a great effort.  Six players contributed to our tally of 1 12 but Sars finished with a flurry of points to win by 0 20 to 1 12.

UNDER 13 HURLING.

At noon on Easter Monday as the sun shone we were at home to Na Piarsaigh in the Premier under 13 Rebel Og League. This was a great game of hurling. With a few absentees due to injury and illness we were hard pushed all the way by the Fairhill side. We trailed by two points at the short whistle. Goals from Adam Walsh and Josh Ahern and a pointed free from Adam Hayes helped us to an exciting 2 14 to 3 10 win. We are at home to Eire Og in the under 13 football league on this coming Saturday April the 22nd at 2 pm.

 UNDER 16 HURLING.

Bride Rovers 2-14  Fermoy 3-6
On Easter Monday night we went to Fitzgerald Park  Fermoy  to play the locals. We started well and great scores from Patrick O Flynn,  Cian Hogan and  Kieran  Kearney had us in front. Some great defensive work from Oisin Roche and the rest of the backline had us ahead at half time 1-6 to 1-3. Kieran took a heavy tackle which resulted in him having to leave the field for a while. The second half went in much the same manner as the first. We were in control for most of the game but conceded two late goals. We won't play a stronger or  more physical team for the rest of the year. It was good result after a great game . Panel. Shaun Knox, Darragh O Sullivan, Matthew, Quinn Tomas Macek, Oisin Roche, Patrick O Flynn, Ruairi O Sullivan,  Seamus Ahern,  Kieran Kearney, Craig O Callaghan,  Cian Hogan,  Michael Quinlan, Edmond Cashman, John Buckley, Adam Walsh and Jacob Powell.

The next under 16 game is a Football League fixture on Monday next April 24th when we are at home at 7  o clock to Youghal.
